Among them, through the elimination of backwardness and technological transformation, Taiyuan Iron and Steel Group will successively complete the reorganization and integration of iron and steel enterprises in the surrounding areas of Taiyuan, Linfen, Yuncheng, and Luliang, with a production capacity of 40 million tons, increasing its share of the province’s steel industry to 80%. The operating income has reached more than 200 billion yuan, and the comprehensive strength has entered the top 8 in the country, and it has become a large-scale steel conglomerate with international competitiveness.

At the same time, relying on Shougang Group to promote the reorganization and integration of Shougang Changgang Group's iron and steel enterprises in southeast Shanxi bases such as Changzhi and Jincheng. In 2015, the production capacity of Shougang Changgang Group reached 10 million tons, accounting for 20% of the province's steel industry.

TISCO produced 9.59 million tons of steel in 2010, a year-on-year increase of 1.37%, of which stainless steel was 2.72 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.68%, continuing to rank first in the world, achieving operating income of 111.5 billion yuan and realizing profits of 2.5 billion yuan. Previously, Taiyuan Iron and Steel announced its production and operation goals for 2011: This year, Taiyuan Iron and Steel will continue to expand stainless steel production to a scale of 3 million tons, while achieving operating income of 125 billion yuan, an increase of 10 billion yuan over last year. By 2012, TISCO will have an annual production capacity of 13.5 million tons of fine ore concentrates, and become an enterprise with the best iron ore resource guarantee conditions in the domestic steel industry; in 2011, it will also form 400,000 tons of cold-rolled stainless steel plates and 45 Capacity of 10,000 tons of welded pipe.

In August 2009, Shougang formally reorganized Changgang. It plans to spend about 3 years and invest more than 19 billion yuan to implement the "Shougang Changzhi Iron and Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. The current production capacity of Changgang Iron and Steel is 3.6 million tons, and the construction project (Phase I) started in March 2010. It mainly includes 8 projects including the third 80t converter project for steelmaking in the new zone, the 1 million tons/year profile project, the blast furnace gas power generation (cogeneration) project, and the waste heat steam power generation project. The total investment is estimated to be 838 million yuan.
